Exclusive Premiere: Smashing Satellites, ‘The Journey Into Sonic Aluzion’ — Episode 1

As Smashing Satellites gear up for the release of their new full-length disc, SonicAluzion, Diffuser is thrilled to partner with the indie rockers for the premiere of their new "making of" series, "The Journey Into Sonic Aluzion" -- check out the inaugural episode in the video above.

The video follows frontman and founding member Salvatore Costa, from the studio to the sidewalk to his home. Costa is nothing but honest throughout the clip, admitting that he writes “selfishly,” but not because he's selfish person; he understands that regardless of a person’s background or professional trade, at the end of the day, we’re all human and we all struggle with -- and celebrate -- the same things. So when he writes selfishly, he’s writing about experiences in which his fans will find a common interest.

That theme of authenticity and brutal honesty is found throughout his band's new album.

"SonicAluzion captures a particular timeline in my life of great highs and lows ... triumphs and failures ... the beginning of the end ... the end and the beginning," Costa tells us. "There is a bipolarity to this record much like the point of time in which it was written and recorded and subsequently, much like myself."
